Description of Fees:
- 1 - Mandatory fees for Storrs students. Fees reported are the 2020-2021 rate and are subject to change with board approval.
- 2 - The room charge is based on a standard double which is what most incoming students receive. Financial Aid uses an average room charge when calculating Cost of Attendance. Amount reported is the 2020-2021 rate and is subject to change with board approval.
- 3 - The meal plan is based on the Value meal plan. Amount reported is the 2020-2021 rate and is subject to change with board approval.
- 4 - All full-time students are required to be covered by health insurance. Students are therefore automatically billed for the University's health insurance plan every Fall. If the student is already covered, they can waive the health insurance fee in their Student Administration account. For specific information regarding the University health insurance plan, please visit the Student Health Services website. Amount reported is the 2020-2021 rate and is subject to change with board approval.
- 5 - This is an optional fee which may be waived in your Student Administration account once your fee bill is available.
Estimated Cost of Attendance for Undergraduate Students at the Storrs Campus (2020-2021)
The Cost of Attendance (COA) is the Office of Student Financial Aid Services' estimate of your educational expenses for the school year. The total Cost of Attendance (COA) includes estimated direct educational costs and an estimate of indirect costs based on full-time attendance at Storrs. The housing and meal plan amounts are an average of the cost of the various options for the year. These figures do not represent your actual fee bill but are estimates and subject to change. Indirect costs such as books and supplies, transportation, and miscellaneous costs do not appear on the fee bill. Please note that students are billed separately for each semester; therefore, the annual amounts described below may be divided by two to determine estimates for a single semester. In order to reduce these costs, we encourage you to choose the lowest price options for housing rates and meal plans. For information regarding actual current year costs, please visit the Bursar’s website.

Based on your enrollment, you will be billed each semester by the Bursar's Office for tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and meal plan, if applicable. Indirect costs such as books, off-campus housing, transportation and miscellaneous expenses are not payable to UConn and are estimated to establish your COA and to help you and your family plan for the overall cost of your education. Students who are less-than-full-time will have certain expenses adjusted based on the number of credits for which they are enrolled, usually after the end of each semester’s add/drop period. Students who anticipate less-than-full-time enrollment should advise the Office of Student Financial Aid Services to ensure that their COA and financial aid offers are as accurate as possible. Complete the Interactive Financial Aid Worksheet to determine if a balance is due.
Undergraduate Students at a Regional Campus (2020-2021)
The total Cost of Attendance (COA) includes estimated direct educational costs and an estimate of indirect costs based on full-time attendance for both Fall and Spring semesters. Fees are an average of the costs at the various regional campuses for the year. These figures do not represent your actual fee bill but are estimates and subject to change. Students are billed separately for each semester; therefore, the annual amounts described below may be divided by two to determine estimates for a single semester. Please note that dependent students attending a regional campus are assumed to be living with their parents. Dependent students who do NOT plan to live with their parents should complete an Appeal for Increased Cost of Attendance form by clicking here. Submit the completed/signed form along with a signed lease or mortgage agreement to the Office of Student Financial Aid Services. We will evaluate your residential status and notify you of any modifications to your financial aid package. Please note that most forms of financial aid are awarded on a funds available basis.
