Winter Intersession

Financial aid for Winter Intersession courses is based on remaining aid eligibility. Financial Aid eligibility will be evaluated after the published spring fixed enrollment date. Therefore, to meet the fee bill deadline and avoid late fees, students must pay their fee bills out of pocket.

Summer 2019 Satisfactory Academic Progress Review

At the end of each term, the Office of Student Financial Aid Services (OSFAS) is required to evaluate students who are currently on a Financial Aid Eligibility Plan for compliance with the University SAP policy. The Financial Aid Eligibility Plan status applies to students whose SAP appeal was approved in 2019.

The summer term review will take place on September 3, 2019. Students who do not meet the SAP standards will have the option to submit a SAP appeal. The deadline to appeal is September 14, 2019. Students should be aware that in order for their appeal to be considered, it must be submitted by the published deadline. No late appeals will be reviewed.

A full description of the SAP policy and the requirements of the Financial Aid Eligibility Plan can be found at http://financialaid.uconn.edu/sap.

New for Summer 2019 Financial Aid

If you plan to take courses at UConn during the 2019 summer session and wish to be considered for financial aid, you must:

  • Enroll for summer courses; most forms of aid require that you enroll on at least a half time basis
  • Have completed a 2018-2019 FAFSA

The Office of Student Financial Aid Services (OSFAS) expects to begin awarding financial aid for summer in April.  Please be aware that financial aid for the summer is limited, and is based on your remaining annual eligibility of Federal Pell Grant and Federal Direct Student Loan for the 2018-2019 Award Year.  Please note that other financing options, such as Federal Plus and Alternative loans are also available for the Summer.  Details can be found on our website at http://financialaid.uconn.edu/

In the meantime, tax return transcripts may still be requested by mail. Additional information is available at http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript.
